Finally! I'm excited to share a couple pics from our kitchen renovation. But first, let's take a look at where we started, shall we?
This picture is from the actual real estate listing some six years ago. Wow. What was I thinking?! But seriously, I remember knowing this house was the one and in the same thought, wondering why anyone would paint a kitchen that color. So HGTV of me. What I really should have thought about was the original kitchen cabinets, ancient fridge and mismatched appliances. There was also a totally wonky gas line that somehow passed inspection. Go figure. And now, without further adieu...
Still have a few more things to do (like add hardware to one of the cabinets featured!). But overall we did a lot, including remove a window so we could relocate the fridge. Normally, I would hate to remove a window but luckily, this kitchen has a lot a light plus a skylight over the dining area. And let me tell you, heat from stove + fridge seal + time = fridge door falling off completely so this was a necessary change. We opened up all the walls and added insulation behind the cabinets because there wasn't any. You could actually feel a breeze in the winter. No anymore! We have all new wood cabinets, granite counter tops, smudge-proof stainless appliances, refinished floors and my beautiful back splash and tiled accent wall. My builder thought I was nuts for that one. Maybe I am. So time to sell now? JK.
