Weekend coffee #42.
The jet lag is real, folks. Since getting home Monday night, I just can’t seem to get it together. My current schedule is something like: wake up around 3 or 4 a.m., power through the morning and afternoon, crash around 5 p.m., force myself awake about 7 p.m. and stay up until 11 p.m. or later. Not ideal. Hopefully this weekend affords the opportunity to get my shit together. In the meantime, here’s what I’ve been thinking about this week:
Vintage Japanese advertising - much different than anything I saw on our trip. Their current strategy is very subdued, featuring prominent head shots and smaller text treatments. Not quite as outlandish.
Enjoying all the press around Robyn’s new album (comes out next Friday, October 26). I tried to find her songs during our karaoke exploits and failed miserably. Oh well, next time.
In 2011, I worked with a girl who raved about “Happy Endings.” I just finally got around to watching it and wish it hadn’t ended. Interested to see how this new Adam Pally project pans out.
Jesse and I are already talking about where to go on our next trip. Puerto Rico is definitely on my list. Maybe I can sell him on that idea by whipping up a batch of these piña coladas…
Finally got around to “reading” to Educated: A Memoir. My library only stocked the audio book, which automatically downloaded while I was gone. Could not stop listening. Highly recommend it.
Continuing to embrace the wide-leg pants trend. Backed it in middle school, still into it now. Shout out to Anthropologie for handing me a 20 percent off discount card as I approached the checkout line the other day.
That’s all for now. With a little more sleep, I’ll start writing that travelogue I promised. Stay tuned!
