Greetings, hi, hello.

Welcome to my site. This is where I showcase my work and write about this thing called life. Enjoy!

Weekend coffee #45.

Weekend coffee #45.

To quote Paul Simon, “I'm going to Graceland. For reasons, I cannot explain. There's some part of me wants to see Graceland.” Well, in reality, I saw Graceland yesterday, but the song seemed apropos. My love affair with Tennessee goes back away at this point, so it comes as no surprise that I’m enjoying Memphis as much as I did Nashville (2012), Knoxville (2011) and Chattanooga (2010). Otherwise, this was a big week, midterm elections and all, so here’s what else I’m thinking about:

  • This NYC photo archive is wild. Definitely went down an internet rabbit hole looking up old apartments and offices to see what was there in the 1940s.

  • Screw the critics. I saw and loved Bohemian Rhapsody. And while Rami Malek was excellent as Freddie Mercury, nothing beats the real deal. Amazing.

  • Speaking of personality, can I be this woman when I grow up? The hair, the outfit, the attitude. She exudes cool. Maybe I’ll start with the boots and go from there.

  • Did you ever read Lord of the Flies? I remember hating it in school, which made this article about its inspiration all the more disturbing. Hard pass on that one.

  • I’m 100 percent pro-cardigan and would very much like the highly coveted Sézane number. Along with several others to keep my arms warm this winter.

More on Memphis later, plus the last two posts in my Japan travelogue. Home soon so until next weekend. Have a good one.
