Greetings, hi, hello.

Welcome to my site. This is where I showcase my work and write about this thing called life. Enjoy!

September start.

September start.

Here we are, September. I've always liked September, but I've noticed lately that it seems to be having a moment. There's lots of talk about September as the new January, citing Rosh Hashanah, back to school and other tie-ins for the trend. Whatever the reason, September is going to be big this year. On a personal level, I've got a lot going on. Like a lot, a lot. Naturally, that means I'm pushing back and letting that to do list pile up. Who doesn't love a little procrastination?

Anyway, I was looking back at some earlier posts and decided that unlike summer, I'm not going to set parameters for fall. Mostly because I accomplished very little from my summertime list and spent a good chunk of time working. It's possible that this will happen again in the coming months. But as I mentioned, I've already got a lot happening so rather than over schedule every last moment of time; I'm just going to be. This is not something I'm particularly good at so we'll see how long it lasts.

Here's what I know for sure:

  • HR Tech - I'll be in Vegas next week for my annual sojourn to the HR Technology Conference & Expo. Believe this is my sixth year working the show? You can find me in the press room. I'll be the one telling you that you're not allowed in without the right credentials.
  • Jesse's birthday - Someone's over the hill, and it's not me. To celebrate, we're doing a big trip (more on that in a second) and a big party. This is keeping me busy between now and the end of the month. Hi, people. Please answer the RSVP.
  • Japan - Here's that trip I mentioned. A few years ago we went to Hawaii for my birthday so I felt it only fair to see where Jesse would want to go. He picked Japan, so that's where we're going. Time to figure out a few words and phrases...
  • Memphis - There's more. Along with Jesse's sisters, Devon and Kelsey, we're taking his parents to Graceland. It's been a few years since the last Fleury family vacation, so the gang is hopping a flight and taking on one of my favorite states, Tennessee.

From pre-fall until mid-November. Easy to see why I'm backing out of planning anything else, eh? I'm tired (but excited) already.
