Weekend coffee #53.
I debated how to name this series now that we’re in a new year. Weekend coffee #1 (x 2)? Yeah, no. So instead, let’s just keeping counting. There was a ton of resolution-ish content floating around out there this week, including my own nebulous attempt to nail down 2019. In the midst of all that, here are a few pieces that resonated:
How to Change Without Willpower. As a former Hairpin reader, I’m a bit of an Edith Zimmerman fan-girl. As someone who is constantly chasing something, this article nailed that feeling.
My 2019 Resolution: Do More Things That Don’t Make Any Money. Last year I freelanced full-time and worked a lot of nights and weekends. It was hard. These goals seem tangible.
How to Lose Tens of Thousands of Dollars on Amazon. Having tried my hand at selling stuff in the past, I know how frustrating it is, but this story highlights a really ugly side of the Internet.
On a lighter note, watch a conservator delicately remove murky varnish and a warped wooden panel from an aging painting. Mesmerizing.
Looking for dresses for some upcoming winter events. Right now considering a handful of options from & Other Stories, including this one, this one and this one.
Until next weekend. Stay warm.
