Weekend coffee #66.
There’s something about short weeks that always feel that much crazier. Anyway, I’m the midst of my cousin’s wedding weekend up near Mystic, CT so I’m going to keep this one on the shorter side. Here’s what I’ve been reading:
Millennials Are Sick of Drinking - But they’re not giving up booze just yet. I definitely echo this sentiment, having adjusted my attitude toward alcohol over the last couple years. Though I’m not sure this is so much generational is it relates to our age range.
How to Be a Better Listener. Listening is definitely a skill that requires active, ongoing attention and as someone who never shuts the fuck up, I could definitely learn a thing or two from this guide. Also interested in this forthcoming, tangentially related book.
Hello, Bowie Vans. My sister bought me Bowie tickets once and I had to skip the concert because of a final exam. Epic fail. Not sure I’ll actually pull the trigger but I’ve been ogling the Aladdin Sane and polka dot pairs since I found out about the collection.
I usually steer clear of Pinterest-y tips like this one about repelling bugs with vinegar. Might make an exception this time since my windows are filthy and we live next to a lake near the beach somewhere in the swamps of Jersey.
There’s some interesting stuff happening at Google lately, though I’m not talking about their products and services. I’m talking about the internal protests and disruption around the company’s approach to HR, AI and ethics.
Until next week - thanks for following along.
