Weekend coffee #167.
It seems everyone is out there talking about where you were a year ago, what’s changed, etc. Me? I feel like the world is starting to wake back up as vaccines rollout and cases decrease. Fingers crossed it’s for real this time. It’s like I’ve been holding my breath and standing in one place inside of a library forever. Need some movement, need some energy, need some sunshine. This week, I published a piece on International Women’s Day, a day I really wish didn’t have to exist in the year 2021, and appeared on the Only Posers Don’t Listen to Podcast live stream. Might as well call this week “aging punk continues to be angsty.” Otherwise, here’s what’s going on:
The little-known radical history of International Women’s Day
The Library of Congress Needs Your Help Transcribing James Garfield’s Diaries
I Think About John Mayer’s ‘Daughters’ a Lot (Editor’s Note: Not in a good way)
Call Your Girlfriend discussing Burnout.
Reading: Still on The Body is Not An Apology. Really good so far.
Watching: Murder Among the Mormons. Jesse and I keep asking, wait, is this real?
That’s all I’ve got for now. It’s been a particularly insane week. Until next time - thanks for following along.
